HP OfficeJet Pro 7740 Printers - Loading Paper, Cards, Envelopes
This document is for the HP OfficeJet Pro 7740 Wide Format All-in-One Printer.
Your printer can print on plain or specialty paper. Load plain paper, legal size paper, custom envelopes, or index cards like Hagaki, in the printer.
note:Never load multiple types of paper in the input tray. Load one type of paper at a time, and never load paper while the printer is printing.
note:To purchase paper in the United States and Canada, go to the HP Store.
Load plain paper in Tray 1 or Tray 2
Load plain paper, such as U.S. letter, A4, or legal, print side up into the input tray before you print.

Pull out the input tray.

To load large-size paper, press the tray extension button, and then extend the tray to the desired paper size.

Slide out the paper-width guides as far as possible.

Load a stack of plain paper in portrait orientation with the print-side facing down in the center of the tray, and then slide the stack forward until it stops.

Make sure the stack of paper does not exceed the paper fill guide on the side of the tray.

Slide in the paper guides until they rest against the stack of paper.

Close the tray extender cover.

Insert the tray into the printer.

Pull out the output tray extension to desired length.

note:Before printing or copying, select the correct paper size and paper type settings from the control panel or computer.
Load envelopes in Tray 1
Load the printer with blank envelopes print side down in Tray 1 to print addresses for the recipient and the sender.
note:Do not load envelopes in Tray 2.

Pull out Tray 1.

Slide out the paper-width guides as far as possible.

Insert up to 30 envelopes print side down in the center of the tray, and then slide in the paper-width guides until they rest against the sides of the envelopes.
Make sure to position envelopes with the flap on the short edge away from the printer, and position envelopes with the flap on the long edge with the flap to the left.

Make sure the stack of envelopes does not exceed the paper fill guide on the side of the tray.

Insert Tray 1 into the printer.

note:Before printing on the envelopes, select the correct envelope size and settings when printing or copying.
Load cards or photo paper in Tray 1
You can load specialty sized photo paper or index cards like Hagaki, print side down into the input tray before you print.
note:Do not load cards or photo paper in Tray 2.
